Jochen, Nina und Curt Lincoln gemeinsam bei einer Bootsausfahrt in Finnland

Curt "Curre" Richard Lincoln, geboren am 8.10.1918, verstarb am 28.8.2005 im 87. Lebensjahr in Espoo, in seiner Heimat Finnland. Er war Vater von zwei Töchtern, Nina und Ann und von Sohn Lars, sowie der Schwiegervater von Jochen Rindt.

1963 fährt Lincoln sehr erfolgreich in der Formel Junior und stellt für seinen späteren Schwiegersohn einen durchaus ernst zu nehmenden Gegner dar.

So gewinnt er die Rennen von Stockholm, Helsinki und Falkenberg (SW), wurde Zweiter in Budapest und Kanonloppet (SW), Dritter in Wien Aspern und gewann den 1. Heat in Monza, schied aber im 2. Heat aus.

Zu jenem Rennen darf ihn seine damals 20jährige Tochter Nina begleiten. Mit Jochen hat er wärend der Saison keinerlei Kontakt, man ist einfach zu sehr mit sich selbst beschäftigt.

Zu Weihnachten des gleichen Jahres (1963) verbringen die Lincolns die Skiferien in Zürs am Arlberg. Nina erblickt eines Abends Jochen und meint den Rennfahrer vom letzten Sommer wieder zu erkennen und fragt daher ihren Vater, der aber das Gesicht mit der krummen Nase noch nie in seinem Leben gesehen haben will. Nina gibt aber nicht nach und drängt ihren Vater dazu den "Unbekannten" zu fragen. Er geht darauf gemeinsam mit Nina an die Bar und beginnt mit Jochen zu plaudern. Grosses Hallo ist angesagt, als sich herausstellt, dass Jochen doch jener Rennfahrer ist, den er noch nie zuvor gesehen haben will. Die Beiden führen dann zwei Stunden lang Benzingespräche ohne einer Unterbrechung, bis Curt Lincoln plötzlich zu Jochen sagt: "Ach übrigens, das ist meine Tochter Nina". "Ich habe ja gar nicht gewusst, dass du eine Tochter hast", antwortet Jochen.

Am nächsten Tag ladet Jochen Nina zum Tanz. Mutter Lincoln ist von der Idee ihrer Tochter gar nicht begeistert, sich mit diesem Bürscherl, dessen Aussehen nicht ganz nach ihrem Geschmack zu sein scheint, zu verabreden. Jochen riecht den Braten und versucht auf seine eigene charmante Art, Frau Lincoln für sich zu gewinnen. Da es ganz Zürs und Lech keinen offenen Blumenladen gibt, fährt er kurz entschlossen in Richtung Bregenz um Blumen für Nina’s Mutter zu besorgen. Frau Lincoln spricht danach nur noch in höchsten Tönen über diesen netten jungen Mann .....!

Vier Jahre später, im März 1967, heiraten Jochen und Nina in Helsinki und Curt Lincoln führt seine Tochter zum Traultar, um sie an Jochen als Frau zu übergeben.

In den 40er und 50er Jahren war Curt Lincoln ein sehr erfolgreicher Tennisspieler. Wurde Finnischer und Schwedischer Tennis-Champion. Danach wechselte er zu schnellen Autos, bestritt über 400 Rennen wobei er an die 200 Rennen gewinnen konnte.

1966 wurde unter seiner Patronanz die Rennstrecke von Keimola eröffnet, auf der Jochen Rindt einige Formel 2 Rennen bestreitet.

Born 08.10.1918 in Stockholm, Sweden. Died in Espoo 28.08.2005. Widow Benita L. Father Nino L. Daughters Nina (Rindt) and Ann. Granddaughter Natasha works in the organization of Bernie Ecclestone. Son Lars L.
Curt Lincoln participed in the War of Continuation (1941-1944) against the Soviet Union. On the beginning he served as a military chauffeur at the general headquarters in Mikkeli. Afterwards he served on the Karelian Isthmus front in a transport unit.
Top level Scandinavian tennis player in 40s and 50s. Finnish and Swedish Champion in tennis. About 400 car races and near 200 wins. Finnish citizen since 1961. Club was 500 kerho.
Lived in Westend of Espoo City near Helsinki and Begninis, Switzerland.

 

1947-1948 Motorboots in hydroplane classes. Several wins.

1949 Formula 3 class with Finnish made KG Special ILO and JAP car.Used pseudonym Erik Lindqvist. He was Lincoln's first mechanic. Fourth in Elaintarha races. Debut win at Tampere Hippos dirttrack. Runner up in Lappeenranta after Lars Finnilä. Two wins in Seinajoki. Won in Pori. Runner up in Kapyla Helsinki dirttrack after Nils Gagner (S) Effyh. Runner up in handicap start too. Retired in F 3 start.
Foundermember of famous Finnish club 500 kerho with Veikko Palotie, Anatol Stunkel, Fred Geitel, Lars Finnila, Nikolai Kozarovitzky and Karl Erik Kronqvist. First name of the club was Midget Racing Club and the historic foundation date was 18.03.1949.



1950 F 3 class with Swedish made Effyh JAP car. Runner up in Elaintarha (=Helsinki) after Ake Jonsson (S). Used pseudonym Erik Lindqvist again. First win as Curt Lincoln at Tampere Hippos dirt track before Jonsson. More wins in Savonlinna, Lappeenranta and Seinajoki..

1951 F 3 class with Effyh  JAP car. Superb win in Elaintarha races before Vilho Hollming..Win at Hedemora TT (S). Wins at Savonlinna, Pori, Kuopio, Tampere.

1952 F 3 class with Effyh  JAP. Retired in Elaintarha. Wins at Tampere, Seinajoki, Pori, Riihimaki, Hyvinkaa and Lohja. Runner up at Vastkustloppet in Falkenberg (S) and Skarpsnacksloppet in Stockholm (S) aeroport track. Runner up in Turku.

1953 F 3 class with Cooper T 26 Mark VII Norton car. Superb win in Elaintarha before Pentti Loivaranta and John Cooper junior. Wins at Turku, Kuusankoski, Pori, Lohja, Forssa. Runner up at Vastkustloppet in Falkenberg (S). Third in Tampere.Retired at Toijala dirttrack.



1954 F 3 class with Cooper T 26 Mark VII Norton car. Third in Elaintarha behind  works drivers Eric Brandon (GB) Cooper Norton   and Rodney Nuckey (GB) Cooper Norton. Wins  at Turku, Lappeenranta, Savonlinna and Hyvinkaa. Runner up in Lappeenranta. Third at Skarpnacksloppet in Stockholm (S) aeroport track. Retired at Vastkustloppet in Falkenberg (S).
Sportscars with blue Austin Healey 100 car. Fourth at Kaivopuisto (Merisatama) Helsinki ice track races. Runner up in free class behind Eino V. Elo compressor fitted Peugeot 203 Martin. Fifth in under 30 hp class with Austin Seven. Fifth in Elaintarha wuth Austin Healey. Win in Seinajoki.

Won hill climb race at Suontaa Vihti before Pentti Keinanen Cooper. Win ahead of Bill Lomas (DK) and Sven "Bergvagg" Andersson (S) at Vastkustloppet of Falkenberg (S). Win at Paaskylahti track in Savonlinna before Leo Kuntola and Leo I. Mattila. Ice track at Turku Hippos. Runner up after local man Heimo Hietarinta Cooper.

1963 F Junior class with Brabham BT Ford Holbay car. Runner up in first heat after David Hitches (GB) Lola Ford at Elaintarha.The final start was cancelled. Runner up behind Gunnar " Perspergarn" Carlsson Lotus 22 Ford  at Kanonloppet in Karlskoga (S). Superb win at Vastkustloppet of Falkenberg (S) ahead of Yngve Rosqvist (S) Cooper and Jens Christian Legarth (DK) Lotus 22 Ford Holbay. Won Skarpnacksloppet in Stockholm (S) ahead of  Freddy Kottulinsky (S) Lola Mark 6 Ford and Picko Troberg (S) Lola Mark 6 Ford. Runner up in Budapest behind Kurt Ahrens Junior (D) Cooper. Niskanen Citroen. Win at Forssa Pyhajarvi icetrack before Simo Westerback Volvo PV 544 port and Carl Johan Askolin Volvo PV 544 Sport. Win at Porvoo icetrack.



1964 F Junior class with white Brabham BT Ford Holbay. Icerace at Lohja. Won Skarpnacksloppet in Stockholm ahead of  Sven Mattsson (S) Lotus 22 Ford Holbay and Sven "Bergvagg" Andersson (S) Cooper. Win at Velodromloppet in Karlskoga (S) ahead of Sven Mattsson (S) Lotus 22 Ford and Freddy Kottulinsky (S) Lola Mark 6 Ford. After that race Brabham car has been sold to Picko Troberg (S)  and it  was converted into new Formula 3 regulations.Troberg made a very succesful international season with the car.



1965 No races. Building of Keimola circuit was in beginning.

1966 The opening race at Lincoln's own Keimola track in Vantaa City was held on sunny and hot sunday 12.06.1966.

1967 F 3 class come back with leased Brabham BT  21  Ford Holbay car. Lincoln was 49 years young. One win at Keimola races.



1968 No more races.
